Deicing salts have been found to have a negative impact on the performance of manufactured filtration treatment devices (MFTDs); yet, testing protocols for MFTDs rarely consider the effects of deicing. As a guide to developing a test, this session will examine a standardized stormwater-filter deicing protocol developed by a leading European technical authority that used to test the HydroChain™ Vortex Filter.
