- Apply practical lessons learned from recent stormwater master planning projects to current and future green infrastructure (GI) initiatives
- Describe resilience strategies from master plans that address use of GI including porous pavement to mitigate extreme weather events and climate impacts
- Assess key successes and challenges encountered during the implementation and maintenance of porous pavement
About the Presenters

Mark Van Auken serves as Stormwater and Green Infrastructure Practice Leader for Arcadis where he helps develop and lead stormwater work. He specializes in municipal stormwater management, with 34 years’ experience in a variety of stormwater work. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University, is a Professional Engineer in multiple states, Certified Professional in Municipal Stormwater Management, an Envision Sustainability Professional, and past Chair of WEF’s Stormwater Technology & Innovation Focus Group.

Stephanie Sanchez is a Licensed Professional Engineer with eight years of experience in water resources and environmental engineering. She specializes in stormwater management, coastal resiliency, and sustainable infrastructure. At Arcadis, she manages stormwater management and flood protection projects across New York City and the Northeast. She is passionate about integrating science, policy, and community resilience to help build safer, more sustainable cities.
