Turbulence and Velocity Reduction in Stormwater Quality Structures

This presentation covers design options that reduce the discharge of gross pollutants, sediment, trash, and hydrocarbons from stormwater discharges. A special focus is given to the Turbo Plate turbulence reduction system. With this sump plate system, enhanced sediment reduction and retention can be realized, with TSS reductions of 70% or greater now possible. Examples of installations from around the U.S. are profiled including a discussion of costs, and maintenance requirements. Internet resources valuable to designers and planners are also covered. Design literature will be provided for all presentation attendees.
