Leveraging Technology in the Time of COVID-19

This presentation will present the goals, objectives, and outcomes of the use of evolving technology for remote monitoring, weather tracking, project team communication, and virtual mobile trainings.

Stormwater compliance requires ongoing monitoring, weather tracking, and operation and maintenance of BMPs to remain compliant with stormwater permits and regulations. In the time of COVID-19, where in-person communication, and live trainings are challenging to conduct, we would like to present new ways in which technology can be leveraged for communication, weather monitoring application, regulatory enforcement tracking, mobile data collection and reporting, and field deployment of technician refresher training videos on their mobile devices in place of in-person training.

This presentation will present the goals, objectives, and outcomes of the use of evolving technology for remote monitoring, weather tracking, project team communication, and virtual mobile trainings. The presentation will also focus how these modern tools have improved work quality and safety, reinforced stormwater inspection and maintenance training, better prepared staff in the field for their daily tasks, and how this built individual interest in the scope of work.
