Lesson 1, Topic 1
In Progress

Treatment Trains & their role in reducing contaminants

Both natural and active processes can help reduce contamination. Combined natural and active processes progressively and repeatedly (redundantly) inactivate contaminants or make contaminants unavailable. Together these processes exclude, sequester, filter, inactivate, and prevent (remove the sources of) contamination at all component steps in active systems (MacDonald, 2015). The combined steps are called treatment trains.
